We had a very interesting February, beginning January 29th, the day before Awesome's birth. On this day, Peter's car died. Completely. Due to a car accident in October, this was our only car. We were blessed to borrow Peter's parents' car and it got us to the hospital the next morning around 2:30 am. We were so grateful our car died on Thursday instead of Friday and that Peter's parents' could spare a car.
Obviously, the next big event was the arrival of Awesome and hanging out with him in the hospital for three weeks. He's doing really well, but more about that later.
A week later, Peter bought us two brand, new cars. Both 2008 Suzuki Forenzas, one blue, one red. These cars were greatly discounted due to the economy and we got a fabulous deal.
About another week later, Peter lost his job. We had one day of fear and sadness before Peter got to work getting himself out there. He quickly began getting interviews and in the meantime, it was nice to have him home while we made the big transition into parenthood.
A week after that, Awesome came home.
My dad says big things come in groups of three for Peter and I and in this case he was right: new baby, dead car/new cars, and a lost job. (Our last big things were graduation, new house, new job (for Paige)).
With all of these things, it has been a crazy month, but we have seen the Lord's hand in our lives and have felt of His love. We are happy to report that Awesome is growing healthy and strong (and long). He is over 6 lbs. 9 oz. and he's a happy little guy, even though he doesn't smile yet. Also, Peter has found a new job working for ancestry.com in Provo. He will be making websites for them and he is really excited. We hope the rest of you had a calmer February than us and that if not, that things turn around soon.

oooo...no fun!!! similar things happened to us with Rose's birth. Our car died too. We had friends in the ward who said we could have their second car if needed. Luckily our car got out of the shop a few hours before heading to the hospital. And then I broke my tail bone shortly thereafter and was out of commission for almost a year (well, not completely out of commission, but I was for about the first month and moved super slow after that) during finals week, and I think Brian was out of work too during that time. I feel your pain. It'll get better :)
Yay! We have been hoping to see more pictures of Andrew! We are so glad that he is home! What a crazy few months you have had! Yay for the new cars and Congratulations to Peter on his new job! How is that going? Does he enjoy it? We miss you guys! We think about you a ton and hope we get to see you soon!
Oh my goodness! What a crazy month. I'm sure your emotions were all over the place, with hormones and good news and bad news. Welcome March!! =) Congrats on your beautiful baby and to Peter for his new job and very exciting about two brand new cars! I hope things keep looking up!
it sounds like you have had quite a bit on your plate. it took Emmeline a while to smile for us when we brought her home. babies in the hospital are impacted more then we think. she still wont laugh though. i am glad andrew is doing so well.

you really and truly did have a wild month. it was such a miracle that despite the fact that the car died that the other car was available! don't even want to imagine otherwise. cute matching cars. is it the boy = blue / girl = red thing? miracles, truly! so glad that pete landed the job with ancestry.com.
Andrew really is a precious little thing! I hope we can see him soon!
